French lesson on Saturday

I believe it is very important to learn languages, especially when your mother tongue is spoken by fifteen million people only. It was obligatory to learn Russian at primary school when I was a child - how bizarre. Not that I didn't like it, actually, I was delighted when I first translated and understood a couple of sentences, fragments of a speech a Russian politician made on tv apropos of his visit to Hungary. This was my first 'international' experience. Most of that knowledge has faded, except for some evergreen sentences, such as the Russian equivalent of "Miss, I report you that today nobody is absent" Thanks to the unfortunate 20th century history of Hungary, everyone above the age of twenty-five remembers a few of these phrases.
